Why do we need to meditate? How can meditation help us in our daily lives? Come along to our Happiness Hour class and find out for yourself.
At these Sunday morning sessions we will explore the practice of meditation and the powerful, positive attitudes we can develop that will help us in our daily life.
Discover how we can begin to take steps to let go of:
- Frustration
- Relationship problems
- Stress
- Worry
These classes will be based upon Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso’s book, The New Eight Steps to Happiness. This book is a commentary to a poem called Eight Verses of Training the Mind by Geshe Langri Tangpa.
Each class will include guided meditations and a short talk based on one of the verses.
These classes will be taught by our resident teacher, Gen Kelsang Lhachog. Gen Lhachog has been teaching Kadam Dharma for 17 years and is originally from the local area. She shares from her own experience of putting the teachings into practice and her love of Ven. Geshe Kelsang Gyatso’s clear and profound teaching. She says, “I am so happy to be returning to the area where I grew up to share these beautiful and necessary methods for our daily life. I hope that everyone will find something that they can use in their daily lives to help them to find some peace and calm.”
