What is happiness?

Why do we find unhappiness comes easily and happiness takes hard work?

On this course, each week, we will explore these questions and look at how we can find happiness through changing our view and connection with those around us as well as our self.

Each class will include a simple breathing meditation, a talk, a meditation based on the talk and a short time for discussion and questions.

Our classes are self-contained so you can drop in at anytime.  However you will also benefit from attending on a regular basis.

This class will be based on Geshe Kelsang Gyatso’s book, The New Eight Steps to Happiness.

You will learn:

  • What is real happiness and where it is to be found.
  • How to recognize, reduce and finally let go of the cause of your problems.
  • Methods you can put into practise in your daily life, no matter what is happening.

The teacher of this course will be Gen Kelsang Lhachog.

Gen Lhachog is the Resident Teacher at Uma Kadampa Meditation Centre.  She has been studying, practising and teaching Kadampa Buddhism for over 20 years under the guidance of Ven. Geshe Kelsang Gyatso.
