What is the mind? How does the mind function? Why is an understanding of our mind essential for our happiness & how does meditation function to transform our mind from negative to positive?
Everything we need to know about our mind and how it functions are presented in Geshe Kelsang Gyatso’s book How to Understand the Mind.
As it says in this book,
“If we really want to be truly happy and free from suffering we must improve our understanding of the mind.”
Each of these classes can be attended individually or as a course.
Each week we will explore a different aspect of our mind and begin to see, for ourself, how meditation is essential for our happiness.
These classes are open to everyone.
There will be time for meditation & an optional time after the class for refreshments and to ask any questions.

Gen Kelsang Lhachog has been practising and teaching Kadampa meditation for over 20 years. Originally from West Cumbria she has travelled extensively and is happy to be back on local ground. She shares Buddha’s teachings, as presented by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, with a lightness and clarity.
This class is held at our Centre, 16 – 18 Spencer St, Carlisle. CA1 1BG.
